Prabhas is an Indian film actor best known for his work in Telugu cinema. Prabhas made his film debut with the 2002 drama film Eeswar. Prabhas was born on 23 October 1979 at Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. His real name Venkata Satyanarayana Prabhas Raju Uppalapati and he is also known as Young Rebel Star and Darling . Prabhas won the state award, the Nandi Award for Best Actor, for his role in Mirchi. He appeared in a Bollywood item song, in Prabhudeva's 2014 film Action Jaction.

Prabhas was born to film producer Uppalapati Suryanarayana Raju  and his wife Siva Kumari. He is the youngest of three children, with an elder brother Pramod Uppalapati and sister Pragathi. His uncle is Telugu actorKrishnam Raju Uppalapati. Prabhas studied at the DNR School, Bhimavaram and graduated with a B. Tech. degree from Sri Chaitanya College, Hyderabad.

Prabhas started his movie career with Eeswar in 2002. Prabhas played the title role (Bahubali/Shivudu) in S. S. Rajamouli's epic film Baahubali - The Begining (2015), which is the fourth-highest-grossing Indian film to date. Prabhas reprised his role in its sequel,Baahubali 2 - The Conclusion (2017), which became the first ever Indian film to gross over ₹1000 crore (US$155 million) in all languages in just ten days, and it is the 2nd highest-grossing Indian film to date. Prabhas is the first south indian actor to have wax statue in Madame Tussaud's wax museum.

He Works in many films viz. Chatrapati, Yogi, Munna,  Billa, Ek Niranjan, Darling, Mr. Perfect, Rebel, Mirchi, Baahubali etc. Prabhas upcoming movie is Saaho which will worldwide release in 2018. In this movie his opposite role is playing by famous Bollywood actress Shradha Kapoor.
