Arun Vijay is an Indian film actor, playback singer and stunt coordinator. He basically known for his works in Tamil cinema. He was made his on-screen debut with Tamil Film ‘Murai Mappillai’ (1995). He receipt two Filmfare Awards, a Tamil Nadu State Film Award, a Edison Award and a SIIMA Award for Best Actor.

Arun Vijay was born on 19 November, 1977 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. His father Vijayakumar is an veteran film actor and mother Muthukannu. He has two eldest sisters Kavitha, who has acted in a single film, Coolie, and Anitha. Arun Vijay's step mother is actress Manjula Vijayakumar, who played lead roles in over 100 films in the 1970s, while his half-sisters Vanitha, Preetha and Sridevi have also appeared in several films.

Arun Vijay studied at Don Bosco Maticulation Primary School, Egmore and then he graduated from Loyola College, Chennai.  He also sing a song ‘Poondamali Thaan’ on the film Thadaiyara Thaakka in 2012. In 2006, he married Aarthi, daughter of film producer Dr. N. S. Mohan and a post-graduate in Psychology and they has a daughter, Purvi and a son, Arnav Vijay

He acted in many films viz. Murai Mappillai, Ganga Gowri, Kannaal Pesavaa, Mutham, Iyarkai, Jananam, Thavam, Vedha, Malai Malai, Maanja Velu, Thadaiyara Thaakka, Yennai Arindhaal, Bruce Lee, Chakravyuha, Kuttram 23, Vaa Deal, Thadam, etc. He also worked in some Telugu film.
